CVNew company with a solid foundationThe newly-established company Z Meetings is owned by Karin Egede.Who am I?I was born and raised in Narsaq, South Greenland and I have a Danish/Greenlandic background with roots in both countries. I continued my education in Denmark and graduated from Roskilde University with a master's degree in geography and administration (c.s.s.) specializing in Tourism in Arctic Alaska. Throughout the 1980's and until I settled in Nuuk in 1996 I commuted between Denmark and Greenland in order to keep in touch with Greenland while I studied and lived in Copenhagen.
In my previous employment with Greenland Tourism and Business Council, I worked with product development and quality assurance of Greenlandic tourist products as well as development of competence within the tourist industry. I have travelled all over Greenland, from Qaanaaq to Ittoqqortormiit, and I have intimate knowledge of most towns and settlements. In addition, I have worked in the West Nordic region and I know Iceland and The Faroes particularly well. I have held the following positions of trust in recent years:2003 -Member of the SAMIK Committee. Cooperative Agreement between Iceland and Greenland concerning tourism. Chairperson from 2004. Appointed by the government of Greenland.2003 - 2004:Member of Nuuk Business Development Council.2001- 2003:Committee member of NORA. North Atlantic foundation funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and Vestnorden Foundation. Appointed by the government of Greenland.2000-2001:Chairperson for the TAKUSS' Committee. While I was at university I was employed by Greenland Tourism for several periods between 1992 and 1996, and from 1996 until 2005 I was permanently employed here, where I carried out various functions such as regional coordinator, executive secretary and last as administrative manager for Greenland Tourism and Business Council. I resigned from this post in the spring of 2005 to start Z Meetings.
